Well, it's been a long time since I uploaded anything. I guess the daily blog idea didn't really pan out. I don't make the time to take many pictures on a day to day basis. I get trigger happy when I go traveling. I just got back from a trip to Malaysia and Singapore. Hence the new photos. I found a great free photo archive site. It's not set up as a daily photo blog site so I don't think it's a direct "competitor" to this site but I think I'm going to confine my photo activity to the new site from now on. Building a cob house

I've been volunteering some of my time to help build a small cob house in Stanley Park, here in Vancouver. We spent this particular day mixing up many batches of cob in order to finish laying down the floor. I imagine the next step will be building up the cob walls.



For the uninitiated, could you explain what a 'cob house' is?

Cob is a mixture of sand, clay and straw. It's being built near the entrance to the miniture railway is Stanley Park. Check out the website for the SP Earthen Architecture project

This truck caught on fire at was considered to dangerous to approach so it was left to burn.
